Dan Knowles
Building on his leadership training at West Point and in the Army, Dan has over 24 years as a successful business leader and consultant. His career in marketing includes experience at every level from product manager to chief marketing officer. He has had responsibility for businesses in both B2C and B2B industries – from managing P&G consumer and healthcare brands in the US and Europe, to leading the marketing efforts of a multi-national IT service provider in the automotive industry. Since founding Brand Ubiquity in 2002, he has worked with some of the leading companies in the world in healthcare, information technology, and the building industry, as well as with smaller companies in financial services and communications. His efforts include coaching and training executives in the Americas, Europe, and Asia. Dan has seen first-hand many of the barriers that keep companies large and small – even very successful ones – from efficiently achieving their objectives. His passion is helping other leaders implement creative, pragmatic solutions to overcome the barriers, strengthen their organizations, and achieve exceptional results.
Sue Sherman
With over 20 years of business leadership experience, Sue has held chief and vice president executive positions at healthcare organizations, consulting firms, non-profit foundations and a national fitness franchise start-up. She has had responsibility for marketing, operations, new business development and strategic planning. As a senior executive and consultant, she has been a coach, motivator and confidant for visionaries, innovators and entrepreneurs. Sue has consistently delivered exceptional results by helping organizations and their leaders first discern, then decisively address, both the core reasons for underperformance and new opportunities for profit growth. Sue’s experience as an executive in hospital and group practice settings makes her particularly effective at addressing issues facing healthcare providers and executives during these times of unprecedented change. Her extensive team leadership and marketing skills, combined with her experience as a certified executive coach, enables her to focus, motivate, and drive significant and lasting improvement in organizations quickly.
Simon Higginbotham
Simon has more than 25 years of experience in the healthcare, bio-pharmaceutical and clinical research industries, including senior executive, business development and marketing leadership positions. As SVP/Chief Marketing Officer at Kendle International, he was responsible for all strategic customer relationship and global sales and marketing initiatives, nearly tripling sales and establishing partnerships with large global and smaller biopharmaceutical companies. As company President, he took a lead role in successful M&A initiatives and expanded Kendle’s platform into Asia Pacific. Simon’s marketing success throughout his career at Schering AG, P&G, Innovex, Quintiles and Kendle has been characterized by efficiently finding ways to deliver value through collaborative innovation across clinical and commercial functions. He has significant investor relations experience, and has been instrumental in development and leadership of industry policy as head of the Communications Group and later as a full board member of ACRO. He speaks widely as an expert on strategic partnerships and relationship development in the industry.
Trish Cadwallader
Trish has over 30 years of brand management, market research, and consulting experience with Abbott Laboratories, as well as with clients in Food & Snack Products, Pet Nutrition, Personal Care, Appliances, Retail Apparel, Wealth Management, Legal Services, Wound Care, and Medical Devices. She has held a wide range of leadership positions in marketing, business development and sales – successfully building and leading cross-functional teams. Trish has launched several breakthrough nutritional products in the areas of diabetes, oncology and critical care and was the marketing lead responsible for a very successful Rx-OTC switch of Ensure. She has led teams responsible for launching and repositioning products at various stages, including concept and claims development, pre-launch awareness programs, and launch strategy and positioning for both new and restaged mature brands. Trish has served on several boards including for Vomaris Innovations, Inc, a wound care technology company, and for First Community Retirement Village, a long term care and assisted living facility.
Henry van den Berg
As an executive with over 23 years of health care marketing, sales and category management experience across multiple disease areas and geographies, Henry has a history of developing innovative solutions and delivering consistently strong top and bottom line business results at all levels. He excels in creating new businesses from scratch or by creative M&A, expanding existing businesses into new categories, and building high performance teams that focus on sustainable value creation – all with a scarcity mindset. He has worked with start-ups as well as multi-national partnerships and is very comfortable working across boundaries between technical / medical and commercial disciplines. He has led several alliances and is a qualified alliance trainer and trouble shooter. Henry has a medical degree from the University of Utrecht and an MBA from Erasmus University in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
Pamela Lowe
Pam’s 25-year career in communications spans practical experience from the highest levels of government (former member of The White House staff) to corporate leadership in both the B2B and B2C industries (Cintas Corporation – five years; Fruit of the Loom – 10 years). Her keen understanding of how to optimize the necessary inter-personal, organizational, and industry-wide communication – whether building advocacy for a new initiative or responding to a high-profile crisis – enables her to help clients efficiently develop crisp strategy, tactics and content to achieve the desired impact. Pam’s experience working with line and staff managers across sales, marketing, HR, legal, and finance gives her great credibility and valuable perspective when working with executive teams. Her communications experience, combined with her skill as a certified executive coach, enables Pam to help client leaders drive meaningful and lasting change.
Michael Ladd
As a consultant and coach for nearly 20 years, Michael has led strategic positioning, customer insight, and marketing innovation programs across a wide variety of industries and sectors, including FMCG, Financial Services, Auto, Healthcare and Chemicals. He has helped develop and implement new marketing planning and sales processes and coached executives and their commercial teams through practical creative problem-solving workshops. Michael initially developed his critical thinking and analytical skills as a marketing manager and analyst in Europe’s competitive medical devices industry. The challenge of managing diverse product portfolios with limited resources reinforced his emphasis on precise positioning and innovative, but pragmatic approaches to the market. Michael’s approach to training routinely includes coaching and support on both a theoretical and practical level, and his fluency in French, German, and Spanish, in addition to his native English, enables him to help clients extend support to their local teams within regional and field-based organizations. Michael received his M.B.A. in Marketing and Strategic Planning from the London Business School and he has a Bachelor of Arts in German from Davidson College. He is based in Hamburg, Germany.
Elizabeth Mathews
Liz has over 20 years of experience in marketing and competitive analysis. She spent the first decade of her career in brand management with Procter & Gamble, where she led strategic planning and marketing programs for pharmaceutical brands in all phases of their life cycles and in multiple therapeutic areas. Since then, she has been an executive, entrepreneur and consultant, helping companies both within and outside healthcare develop more competitively-focused strategies and efficient marketing plans based on superior customer and competitive insights. Her emphasis on clearly defined objectives, crisp decision-making, unambiguous communication, and skill in motivating others enables Liz to cut through the clutter and efficiently address barriers to client growth. Liz holds an MBA from the University of Cincinnati, and has lived abroad in Italy for several years.
Alan Boyce
Based in the UK, Alan has 25 years of sales and marketing experience throughout both developed and developing markets in the bio-pharmaceutical and contract research industries. He has successfully built and led high-performance teams across culturally and functionally diverse organizations. As a VP and C-level executive, he’s had on-going responsibility for commercial operations across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He’s also managed expansion of operations into new geographies, facilitated acquisition and integration of companies across Europe, and managed implementation of numerous cross-company marketing alliances. Alan lived and worked in the US for many years and has been heavily involved in the successful launch and commercialization of healthcare products in the women’s health, gastro-intestinal and infectious diseases therapy areas. Alan has a BSc in Pharmacology from the University of Bath, England.
Jennifer Horenziak
With over a decade working in marketing and advertising leadership roles, Jen’s experience spans both professional and consumer healthcare marketing at companies like Procter & Gamble, Shire Pharmaceuticals, and Meridian Bioscience. As an account director at WPP agency, Bridge Worldwide, she helped clients like Johnson & Johnson and Abbott Nutrition develop and implement successful marketing strategies and initiatives for products at every stage of the life cycle, including brand equity development, campaign creation, and integration of off-line and on-line media. Jen has been recognized as a Medical Marketing and Media Marketing Team of the Year Award recipient, winner of more than 20 Rx Club and Internet Advertising Competition awards for breakthrough campaign results, and was selected as a judge for the Web Marketing Association’s WebAwards. She has an honors degree in psychology from Stanford and an MBA from Duke’s Fuqua School of Business.
Lisa Knowles
Lisa has diverse work experience, including as a retail buyer and store manager, a real estate IT systems manager and, more recently, as Client Services Manager for a successful, career coaching consultancy. As Office Manager, her attention to detail, customer focus, and strong interpersonal and organizational skills help keep Brand Ubiquity’s administration and logistics running smoothly. She is responsible for handling client information, accounting, and all office administrative responsibilities. Lisa is a Public Policy Studies graduate of Duke University. She loves to travel and has lived in Belgium, Germany, England and France.
